The pay television network Starz this?morning?said it has reached a new multi-year deal to air films from Sony Pictures Entertainment. Starz said it will have the pay TV rights for Sony?s theatrical releases through 2021. The previous deal between the two companies went through 2016.
?Starz and Encore subscribers have enjoyed the consistently stellar theatrical product from Sony, and we are thrilled to extend our exclusive partnership into the next decade,? Starz CEO Chris Albrecht said in a statement.
Starz shares are up 29 cents, or 1.7%, to $16.95.
